Emergency services including six fire appliances and a rescue team raced to a single-vehicle crash in Fife on Tuesday.
A 51-year-old woman had to be cut free from the wreckage of her car after it left the road and plunged down an embankment on the B925 near the small village of Auchtertool.
A specialist rope rescue team was required to access the woman and her vehicle.
Woman taken to hospital
The extent of the woman’s injuries are unknown but she was taken to hospital in Kirkcaldy after the rescue.
No other vehicles were involved.

Police had to block the road while emergency services attended from Fife and Edinburgh.
A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “We sent six appliances from Dunfermline, Lochgelly and Tollcross in Edinburgh to the scene of the crash.
“These included a specialist rope rescue team as the woman’s car had gone down an embankment.
“Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to cut the woman from the wreckage of her vehicle.”
Vehicles forced to wait for road reopening
The road was closed by police during the rescue.
Several vehicles, including the No 18 Kelty bus were forced to wait until the incident was over and the road was cleared.
One eye-witness said: “There were several emergency vehicles dealing with the incident.
“The road was closed for sometime. I hope that whoever was involved is OK.”
