VIDEO: Watch as quad bike drivers cause chaos on Kirkcaldy street

Drivers on Oriel Road in Kirkcaldy were left shocked yesterday afternoon when a pair of quadbike drivers caused chaos on the road.

The quad bikers were seen swerving between lanes on the street and bumping up on pavements in an effort to undertake and overtake motorists.

Dashcam video from the incident, which occurred at around 3.45pm, shows three of the vehicles cutting their way through the busy street.

One of the drivers was seen mounting the pavement.

Car drivers can be seen trying to navigate the dangerous situation as the four-wheelers come up on either side of them.

A man without a helmet can also be seen clinging to the back of one of the quadbikes.

‘People had to pull over for them’

A motorist who was driving down the street at the time said: “They started off behind me but came up on my side.

“They were weaving through the traffic, people must have had to pull over for them.

“I saw them jump up on the pavement too.”

A long-standing issue

Anti-social use of quad bikes and other off-road vehicles has been a long-standing issue across Tayside.

Cops said last year that they would crack down on the practice in Fife; however, reports have continued to come in.

Another man can be seen hanging off the back of the vehicle.

People in Dundee have also reported issues with trail bikes and quads, with some even saying that they feared for their children’s lives as the high-power vehicles roared down the road.

The Kirkcaldy motorist added: “As far as I could see there were no pedestrians but they might have gone further down.

“It’s the first time I’ve personally seen them but it does seem to be a problem around here from what I’ve heard.”
