A Fife RAF veteran is to lead a charity’s efforts to support Scotland’s former forces personnel.
Gordon Michie, from Markinch, has been appointed as Poppyscotland’s new head of fundraising.
Before joining Poppyscotland, he spent 16 years working in fundraising agencies and was involved in the development of UK and overseas charities’ individual giving programmes in senior director roles.
Prior to this he was a fundraiser for the organisation now known as Worldwide Cancer Research.
Mr Michie began his working life in the RAF, serving from 1988 to 1995 with postings in England, Germany and closer to home at RAF Leuchars.
He said: “I am looking forward to be being able to serve again, by supporting the Armed Forces community and ensuring that through the poppy we always remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
