Jim Leishman is one of the cheeriest people in the country so it has come as no surprise to him that Fifers are happy with their lot.
The ebulliant former footballer and current Fife Provost was full of praise for his beloved kingdom as he unveiled a mural at Kirkton of Largo Primary School.
He had the youngsters jumping for joy as he hailed the region a great place to live.
“Being provost, I’ve met a lot of Fife people and they deserve a huge round of applause,” he said.
“Their sense of community is tremendous and they deserve a lot of credit for organising galas and the like.
“It’s about taking a pride in the community and a lot of effort goes into it,”
Mr Leishman also cited the region’s wealth of history and jewels such as Craigtoun Park in St Andrews and Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline.
“Fife is beautiful from the Tay Bridge to the Forth Bridge and it’s a really nice place to be,” he declared.
