Police in Fife are appealing for information after 150 lobsters were stolen from Methil docks.
The lobsters, thought to be worth around £1,300, were taken from a container, which was partly in the water, in an early morning raid.
Officers say the incident happened sometime between 1am and 5am on Monday.
Sergeant Craig Fyall of Levenmouth police station said: “This might seem like a comical incident but this is a fisherman’s livelihood and he believes the lobsters to be worth around £1,300.
“It’s likely the fish were handpicked from the container so it would have been noticeable if anyone left the docks with them.
“If anyone remembers seeing anything suspicious or has any relevant information please contact police.”
