Kirkcaldy car owners are being urged to secure their vehicles at night following a spate of break-ins.
Several incidents have been reported to the police since Tuesday, predominantly in the east end of the town, with valuables having been taken.
Urging members of the public to hide possessions and lock their cars, Inspector Graeme Neill said: “We are investigating after a number of cars in the east of Kirkcaldy were broken into between Tuesday August 31 and Friday September 2 and various valuables were stolen from within.
“Local officers are pursuing various lines of inquiry to trace those responsible and anyone with information is asked to come forward.
“The public are also reminded to ensure they secure their vehicles appropriately when leaving them unattended and to remove any valuables, or store them out of sight.”
