Fife is centre stage in a new film to promote the kingdom.
Fife Tourism Partnership, in association with VisitScotland, has taken the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design to heart with the new Come to Life in Fife production.
Featuring the well known architectural landmarks from the Forth Bridge to ancient castles, the film zips from location to location with contemporary music and a nod to Hollywood with clips from Outlander.
Fife Tourism project manager Ann Camus said: “The film is already attracting a lot of attention as it refreshes how people see Fife.
“All the fantastic assets we have are showcased in a really contemporary, shareable way.
“We know how important digital communication is among visitors before, during and after their stay so capturing their imagination before they come is a great way to ensure they spend longer when they visit.”
The slick video is likely to receive a more positive reaction than the notorious “We’re For Fife” advert produced by Kingdom FM and supported with £5,000 from Fife Council in 2010.

That production — with audio recorded in Texas — was widely derided by locals, and a Facebook page was even set up describing it as an “embarrassment” to the region.
Fife Tourism Partnership’s effort is already receiving an enthusiastic response.
Alistair Bruce, who chairs Dunfermline Local Tourist Association, said: “We love the film – it’s just so modern.
“It puts Fife on the map for today’s visitor and yet we don’t lose any of the important reasons why Fife has always been a great place to come and stay.
“This will also broaden Fife’s appeal to day visitors from Edinburgh, for example.”
VisitScotland supported the tourism partnership with the creative approach.
Senior marketing manager Eva Kwiecinska said: “Our goal with the animation was always to surprise and inspire the audience, through the music, through the locations, through the pace and through the illustrations themselves.
“It was an inspiring project to be part of and showcases an incredible region. We’re really proud of the end result.”
VisitScotland regional partnerships manager Manuela Calchini said the “brilliant” new video showcased the very best of the kingdom of Fife, shining a spotlight on the region’s greatest assets and icons, as well as its hidden gems.
“I’m sure this video will inspire more visitors to ‘come to life in Fife’ and experience what the region has to offer.
“From award-winning eateries to a breathtaking coastline, rich history to unforgettable attractions – Fife has something for everyone to enjoy.”
