Some of motor racing’s most legendary cars and drivers thrilled fans in Fife at the weekend.
Knockhill Racing Circuit hosted the Super Touring Cars Festival and the weekend doubled as a tribute to David Leslie, who was credited with helping to kick-start the cars of the likes of David Coulthard and Dario Franchitti.
Guest of honour was Frank Biela, five-times Le Mans winner and one of Leslie’s former opponents.
Also on the track were arch rivals Gabriele Tarquini and John Cleland who were inspired by former Formula Ford champion Leslie, who was killed in a plane crash in Kent in 2008.
The two-day event was supported by EventScotland and brought masses of racing fans to the Fife track to see the battle for the coveted David Leslie Trophy.
A number of Leslie’s iconic cars were on display, including his Super Touring Nissan Primera and his Le Mans Aston Martin C1.
Aside from the Super Tourers, Scottish championship race action included saloon, sports, classic and single-seater racers.
