Anstruther’s RNLI lifeboat crew were called into action early on Thursday morning after a boat in the Firth of Forth started taking on water.
The station’s all weather lifeboat launched at around 6.17am following the distress call around three miles north of Gullane in East Lothian.
North Berwick’s RNLI lifeboat was also called out.
The Anstruther crew began to pump out water from the vessel and towed it the seven miles back to Port Seton.
Due to the tide at Anstruther, the crew returned the lifeboat to Pittenweem Harbour for refuelling before returning it to Anstruther later on Thursday.
