A 34-year-old man has been charged after an accident on the A92 on Friday night which left a woman in hospital.
The accident between a black Ford Focus and an orange Volkswagen Up happened between the notorious Cadham and Balfarg junctions in Glenrothes.
The 52-year-old female driver of the Volkswagen was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, with minor injuries.
It is unclear whether reports of a police helicopter seen in the air over the area on Friday night are related to the crash.
A police spokesman said a report would be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
The stretch of road and Cadham and Balfarg junctions have been the subject of a long-running and high-profile campaign for safety improvements after a number of serious accidents over the last decade.
