Police in Fife are appealing for information following a housebreaking in Cupar.
The incident took place around 11.40am on Thursday September 22 in Station Road, when a man broke into a ground floor flat and stole jewellery boxes containing a number of items, some of which were engraved.
A 61-year-old resident returned home and challenged the intruder, who then threatened him before making off.
The suspect is described as white, aged 20 to 30 years, five foot eight or nine inches tall, of slim build with short brown hair and glasses.
He was wearing a dark blue zipped hoodie, light grey tracksuit trousers and white trainers.
PC Kristin Bellingham, of Cupar Police Station, said::“We’ve been carrying out a number of enquiries locally and are now appealing for the help of the community in an effort to trace the perpetrator, as well as reunite these items with their rightful owner.
“Anyone who saw suspicious behaviour in the area at this time, recognises the description of the suspect or who may have information on the whereabouts of the stolen items is urged to get in touch.”
