Police in Levenmouth are appealing for witnesses following a break-in and theft from a Fife golf range.
A thief broke into Wellsgreen Golf Range, on the outskirts of Windygates, at around 11pm on Wednesday night.
One inside the premises, the thieves stole five Callaway Big Bertha drivers with a total value of £1,500.
Police have described the balaclava-clad criminal as having a heavy-build and have warned members of the community that the stolen clubs are likely to be sold on.
Detective Constable Chris McGlinchey from Levenmouth CID said: “It is very likely that whoever was responsible for this break-in will look to sell the stolen clubs on and so I would urge anyone who is approached and offered the opportunity to buy these items to decline and report the seller to police.
“As part of this investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around the Wellsgreen Golf Range late on Wednesday evening and if you have information relevant to this inquiry then please contact us immediately.”
Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
