Fife attempted murder probe after man found seriously injured in Leslie

Police in Fife have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was found seriously injured in Leslie.

Emergency crews were called to flats on High Street at around 10.50am on Wednesday.

A 28-year-old man was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy after what police initially described as an assault.

However, the force is now treating the incident as attempted murder, and have arrested – and subsequently released – a man in connection with the case.

The property where the attack allegedly happened remains cordoned off.

In an update to The Courier on Thursday, a Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers were called to a report of a man found with serious injuries on High Street, Leslie around 10.50am on Wednesday.

“Emergency services attended and a 28-year-old man was taken to Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy for treatment.

“A 23-year-old man was arrested and released pending further inquiries.

“Officers are treating this incident as attempted murder and are following positive lines of inquiry.”
