A cyclist who was involved in a collision with a car in Kirkcaldy early on Tuesday morning remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The 38-year-old man was rushed to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital following the accident in Carberry Road at around 6.55am suffering from serious head injuries.
It is understood his condition – described as “critical but stable” by doctors – has not significantly changed, and medics will continue to monitor the man’s progress.
The driver of the car involved, a red Vauxhall Corsa, was unhurt but is said to have been left badly shaken by the incident.
Police Scotland has appealed to anyone who saw the accident or who has information that can assist officers with their inquiries and who has not yet spoken to officers to contact 101.
