A92: Delays after three-vehicle crash in Fife leaves woman in hospital

A woman has been taken to hospital after a three-vehicle crash on the A92 in Fife which left the road closed for several hours.

Locals reported the queues of traffic between Halbeath and Crossgates following the crash at around 3pm on Friday.

Police say the road between Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath was able to reopen shortly after 5pm.

Officers confirmed one woman was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, it is understood her injuries are not thought to be serious.

Drone footage taken a short time after the crash shows heavy traffic from Halbeath roundabout running east towards Cowdenbeath.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers were called to reports of a three vehicle crash on the A92, near Hill of Beath, Fife, around 3pm on Friday March 18 2022.

“Two cars and a pickup truck towing a trailer were involved.

“A woman has been taken to the Victoria Hospital by ambulance.

“Anyone who has dashcam footage of what happened is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 2056 of 18 March, 2022.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to attend a road traffic collision on the A92 at 2.59pm involving a car carrying a small digger on a trailer.

“One casualty was treated by the Scottish Ambulance Service while we made the scene safe, and left at 3.35pm.”
