A mysterious ship docked in Fife has been confirmed as a set for Outlander after pictures of a grinning Sam Heughan were captured on board.
Sam, who stars alongside Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser), could be seen climbing on board this ship in pictures taken in Burntisland.
Other cast and crew were also spotted around the Fife town’s harbour as locals flocked to see what was happening.
Scottish-born actor Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser in the series, is currently filming alongside fellow cast members including Sophie Skelton (Brianna).
Fans of the time-travelling fantasy show can currently watch the newly released season 6, which is airing exclusively on Starz player and features Dundee actor Mark Rannoch.
Filmed primarily in Scotland, the series follows Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743.
Claire marries a Highlander, Jamie Fraser, out of necessity, but the pair quickly fall in love.
Catriona Balfe took to Twitter to thank fans for their dedicated support for the show as filming for the latest series started.
“Hard to imagine what we thought might be one season in 2013 is still going and we have all you amazing fans to thank,” the actress wrote.
