A major rescue operation took place in Fife on Tuesday after a person was feared to be in the Firth of Forth near Kincardine.
The fire service, police, ambulance service, Prestwick rescue helicopter, South Queensferry lifeboat and multiple coastguard crews were all called to the area.
Police confirmed they received the first call at 2.30pm reporting a concern for a person, with the coastguard confirming a potential person in the water.
However the coastguard later confirmed the incident was a false alarm and no one was in the water.
They said the person feared to be in trouble was later seen leaving in their car.
