Several residents at Balnacarron Care Home, in St Andrews, fell ill in a suspected norovirus outbreak. The cause of the illness was not identified but those affected have since recovered. NHS Fife was notified of the outbreak and worked with Bupa, the operator of the Hepburn Gardens facility. Bupa said there had been no new cases since Wednesday but expected it to be the start of the week before it was given the all-clear.
