The public are being told not to worry about a heightened emergency service presence at the Fife Ethylene Plant at Mossmorran on Wednesday morning.
ExxonMobil will be holding an emergency exercise at the plant from 10am to 1pm which will involve all of the blue light emergency services.
Before the exercise begins, a number of emergency service vehicles will gather on the site’s North Access Road, although they may be visible from the A909 Cowdenbeath to Burntisland road.
A spokesman for Fife Council said: “There will be no cause for alarm, however, as this is only an exercise, and all the relevant authorities have been informed.”
Anyone who has any questions about the emergency exercise should contact ExxonMobil Chemical on 01383 846341.
