The mother of missing Fife serviceman Corrie McKeague says no-one would forget meeting her “gregarious” and fun-loving son.
Nicola Urquhart, from Dunfermline, appeared on BBC Breakfast TV this morning to appeal for information on Corrie, who was last seen in the early hours of September 24 in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
On Thursday, Suffolk Constabulary issued a fresh set of CCTV images in a bid to track down some of the people they believe may have encountered Corrie on the night he disappeared.
Ms Urquhart said Corrie “needs to come home to his brothers” and she hopes his outgoing and friendly nature may mean someone remembers a vital detail to solve the mystery.
She said: “Corrie captures the heart of everyone he meets. He is gregarious and funny and loves to be the centre of attention.
“He loves to meet people. He will walk up to strangers in the street and in pubs and just speak to people.”
Corrie, who is 23, was reported missing when he failed to turn up at his base, RAF Honington, 10 miles from the town.
Ms Urquhart added: “He’s immensely proud of being in the RAF.
“He’s so close to his brothers and his family. You don’t forget Corrie if you meet him once.”
Her voice breaking with emotion, she added: “He needs to come home to his brothers, to us.
“We just miss him so much.”
A crowdfunding campaign to hire a private investigator to search for Corrie exceeded its £20,000 target in less than two days.
