Police say the sudden death of a man near a Glenrothes community centre is not being treated as suspicious.
Officers were called after the man was found near the Lomond Centre shortly after noon on Wednesday.
Locals took to social media to report a large number of emergency service vehicles in the area as they responded to the incident.
Glenrothes death ‘not suspicious’
The Courier understands the man died outside the centre on public ground behind Auchmuty High School.
Police Scotland say the death, which was originally being treated as unexplained, is not suspicious.
A force spokeswoman said: “Officers were called to the Lomond Centre, Woodside Way in Glenrothes around 12.20pm on Wednesday following the sudden death of a man.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.”
