An appeal to find the child author of a Christmas letter to their late father has been bolstered by football presenter Gary Lineker.
The rolled up note, which was found attached to a balloon in Townhill, Dunfermline spoke of how the child hopes that their dad is safe in heaven and sets out the gifts they would like in their stocking this year.
The story has now reached far and wide, with English newspapers such as the Bournemouth Echo since picking up the appeal. Mr Lineker’s remark, that “this made me cry” has been retweeted thousands of times.
Members of the public have offered to buy presents for the child since Stuart McColl found the letter and appealed for help to trace the individual.
