A three-vehicle smash on the M90 in Fife caused significant tailbacks and major delays for commuters on Tuesday night. Police, two ambulances and two fire appliances were scrambled following a crash between two cars and a small van around 6.15pm. The accident happened between Halbeath and Kelty and closed the northbound section of the M90. One lane was eventually reopened around 7pm but there was significant congestion and motorists were being urged to find alternative routes. There was also major disruption to public transport with buses heavily delayed. It is thought nobody else was seriously hurt as a result of the accident. Both lanes reopened around 8pm.
