Police in Fife have issued a public safety warning after the theft of a significant quantity of prescription medication.
Drugs, including co-codamol and diazepam, were stolen from a parked car in Laurel Avenue, Methil, at around 8.20pm on Christmas Eve.
Officers said the medicine could cause considerable harm to health if taken.
They have strongly advised anyone who comes across the items not to consume them but to contact the police immediately.
Sergeant Paul Gillespie of Levenmouth Police said: “Our inquires into this matter are at an early stage and our investigation is very much ongoing.
“However, I urge anyone who comes across these medicines to contact police immediately as it poses a significant threat to someone’s health if consumed.
“Likewise, anyone who was in the area over Christmas Eve and who remembers seeing any suspicious behaviour is asked to come forward.”

Diazepam 5mg tablets x 56 tablets
Diclofenac Diethylammonium gel 1.16% x 60 grammes
Easyhaler Salbutamol dry powder inhaler – 100 microgrammes/actuation
Lansoprasole Capsules 15mg x 56 capsules
Lercanidipine Hydrochloride tablets 20mg x 56 tablets
Zopiclone tablets 7.5mg x 28 tablets
Gabapentin tablets 800mg x 128 tablets.
