Police in England say a man who has been missing from his home since the start of the week may well have travelled through Fife.
Adrian Lee, 58, from Washington in Northumbria, was last seen leaving his home in Chipchase, Oxclose, on Monday January 2.
His car, a blue Toyota Aygo registration AJ60 LTU, was later spotted on Monday afternoon on CCTV on the Forth Road Bridge.
Officers on both sides of the border are now working to find Mr Lee as soon as possible.
Chief Inspector Jerry Pearson, from Northumbria Police, said: “Understandably Adrian’s family are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and we are keen to find to him so that we and they can be reassured he is safe and well.
“We’re carrying out extensive enquiries and as a result of our enquiries believe he may be in Scotland.”
Mr Lee is described as being 6ft tall with a shaved head and dark goatee beard.
He was wearing black lace up shoes, a black sweatshirt and a black Harley Davidson jacket.
Anyone who has seen Mr Lee or the car in question should contact 101 and ask to be put through to Northumbria Police quoting reference 271 030117.
