Cupar suffers electrical blackout

Homeowners in Cupar have suffered an electricity blackout.

Locals took to social media to express their concern after a fault was reported in an underground electrical cable.

Scottish Power says it is working to resolve the issue and hopes to restore services for customers “very soon”.

A spokesman said: “A fault to an underground cable was reported about six o’clock.

“We’ve got engineers working on it and are already seeing customers coming back on.

“We’re hopeful we will get the rest of impacted customers back on in the near future.

“Scottish Power would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
