Police in Kirkcaldy say they are continuing to investigate a serious incident that allegedly occurred in the town in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Officers say the incident took place in or around the Hunter Street area and Promenade area.
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who was within the basin car park situated on Kirkcaldy Esplanade between 2am and 8am on Sunday January 1 and who may have observed “any unusual or suspicious activity”.
In particular, police are eager to hear from anyone who remembers seeing a silver Ford Galaxy people-carrier vehicle.
Officers have asked anyone with information to come forward immediately.
No further details about the incident have been released for legal reasons.
