Four men have been charged following violence after Dundee United’s 3-0 loss to Hibernian in Edinburgh on Friday night.
The first incident resulted in a 19-year-old man being rushed to hospital with a head injury in a fight close to Easter Road stadium shortly before the match ended, at around 9.30pm.
Four men aged 18, 21, 21 and 28 were later arrested and charged after another eruption of violence just metres away at the junction of Easter Road and London Road.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police in Edinburgh are investigating after a 19-year-old man sustained a head injury following an altercation at the junction of Easter Road and Rossie Place around 9.25pm on Friday 6 January.
“He was taken by the Scottish Ambulance Service to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
“Four men were detained shortly afterwards following a disturbance at the junction of Easter Road and London Road.
“They were subsequently arrested and charged and will appear in court at a later date.”
