An incident involving a distressed man threatening to jump off a roof has been brought to a safe conclusion, police have said.
The 26-year-old man was on the roof of a block of flats in Glamis Road, Kirkcaldy, for around four hours before being talked down by his brother.
The drama sparked a massive response from the emergency services, with multiple police units, two fire engines and two ambulances at the scene.
A police helicopter was also drafted in to help.
As anxious friends watched from the ground, the man was at one point seen teetering near the edge of the top of the four-storey block.
He moved back to a safer spot once his brother joined him.
It is thought he had climbed out of a top floor window and heaved himself onto the roof at around 8.15am following a disturbance.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “Police in Fife are in attendance at a block of flats in Glamis Road, Kirkcaldy, following a report of a disturbance being received around 7.55am this morning.
“Officers are currently working to bring the situation to a safe conclusion.”
Police said the situation was brought to safe conclusion at 12.10pm.
