A telegraph pole crashed down across a Freuchie street when it was struck by a car.
The pole was hit by a Nissan Almera at around 7.30am on Sunday in Christiegait.
No one was injured in the collision, which was one of a series across the region as temperatures plunged on Saturday night and Sunday morning, but the residential street was closed for several hours.
BT was notified of the fallen structure by Police Scotland.
An Openreach spokeswoman said: “The pole has been moved and police have reopened the road.
“We believe phone and internet services to four local households may be affected.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience, which has been beyond our control on this occasion, and we’ll be working to restore services and replace the pole as soon as possible.
“Any fault should also be reported to the relevant service provider, who may be able to help with measures such as diverts to mobile phones.”
Also in Freuchie a car struck a bollard in Muir Road.
And a car landed on its side on the A91 near Cupar Trading Estate.
It was reported to have skidded on ice and rolled at around 9.15am.
The female driver was unhurt, but motorists were advised to take take care.
Many complained about icy conditions on roads across the region.
Anticipating freezing temperatures, Fife Council said all winter primary routes were treated with salt late on Saturday evening and further emergency action taken during the early hours of the morning.
