Two 15-year-old boys have been charged in connection with the Lundin Links Hotel fire. Police confirmed the teenagers were taken into custody on Sunday. The arrests follow a catastrophic blaze at the former hotel on August 18. Lundin Links Hotel on fire. The Tudor-style building is now in a perilous state and roads surrounding the site are still closed for safety reasons. Inspector Matt Spencer confirmed the arrests at a public meeting in Lundin Links on Monday. Demolition plans Around 160 people filled a packed hall to hear the next steps for the site. Liquidators for the hotel owners, Kapital Residential, have until September 12 to begin demolition. And the work must be finished by October 10. Residents were evacuated as firefighters fought the blaze for around 17 hours. It followed a previous fire and several warnings from local people that the building was a target for vandals. The hotel closed in 2013 and planning permission was in place to transform the site into flats. However, Kaptial Residential went into liquidation earlier this year and the building was boarded up.
