Pupils at Levenmouth Academy were evacuated on Friday morning following a fire at the school.
Two fire appliances were called to deal with a blaze, which is understood to have started in a toilet block.
The fire has been extinguished and pupils have since been allowed to return to the building following the drama, which started at around midday.
Fife Council head of education and children’s services for senior phase and employability, Derek Brown, said: “There was a very small fire in a toilet cubicle in school this morning which the fire service attended.
“Children were initially evacuated.
“Fife Council have been working alongside the fire service to ensure the safety of all.
