A 39-year-old woman has died in “unexplained” circumstances in Thornton, police have confirmed.
There was a police presence at a house in Donald Crescent since 8am throughout most of the day.
An investigation into the death has been launched and enquiries are said to be ongoing.
Scene of crime officers were spotted at the location, but at this stage it has not been confirmed whether there were suspicious circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in Glenrothes were called to an address in Donald Crescent, Thornton, around 8am on Tuesday, February 14, in relation to the death of a 39-year-old woman.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances.”
