A 26-year-old woman has been charged with the attempted murder of a teenage boy following a disturbance in Fife.
Police confirmed a 16-year-old boy had been rushed to Ninewells following an incident in Leslie on Saturday evening.
Officer described the boy’s condition as “stable” in an update.
The woman is expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday.
Inspector Kirk Donnelly said: “A 26-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder following a disturbance on Provosts Land in Leslie around 9.25pm on Saturday.
“A 16-year-old male youth was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment for serious injuries where his condition is described as stable.
“We would like to reassure the community that this was an isolated incident and there was no danger to the wider public.”
Emergency services raced to Provosts Land as several police cordons were erected in the vicinity.
Officers could be seen scouring a footpath on Prinlaws Road as the road was closed, near to the junction with Anderson Drive.
A visible police presence remains outside an address on Provosts Land on Sunday.

Speaking to The Courier residents said they heard “shouting and screaming” before the youngster was taken away in an ambulance.
One man who did not wish to be named said the ambulance raced away from the scene with its blue light on.
He said: “There was really loud shouting and screaming.
“I saw a young guy being brought out a house and then being taken into an ambulance, it went off with blue lights.
“I hope if anyone was hurt they are OK.”
‘Area taped-off’
Another local resident said he had been alerted by a “loud commotion” before emergency services descended onto the scene.
He said: “I just heard a loud commotion, like shouting and screaming.
“When I came out I could see they’d taped off the area and weren’t allowing anyone past.
“Folk who live within the area that was cordoned off weren’t getting access to their homes after leaving the nearby Station Hotel bar.”
