A man hit by a car in Cowdenbeath in the early hours of Sunday morning has been taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
The 37-year-old suffered “serious injuries” following the crash on Broad Street in Cowdenbeath shortly after midnight.
The road was closed following the incident, but was able to reopen around 10.50am on Sunday.
A local resident told The Courier there was a large emergency service presence in the area near Cowdenbeath Primary School following the crash.
He said: “There was a lot of police cars and an ambulance.
“The ambulance was there until after 1am before it eventually left. I hope no one has been badly hurt.”
Medics from the Scottish Ambulance Service took the male pedestrian to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment, police said.

PC Paul MacPherson said: “Our inquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may be able to help to get in touch.
“We would be especially keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident.
