Storm Doris brought commuter chaos to huge swathes of Fife this morning.
Most early risers thought they had got off lightly, waking up to an even but slight dusting of snow, and icy but passable looking roads.
However, in the space of an hour parts of central Fife saw two to three inches of snow dumped, bringing many roads to a standstill.
The M90 near Dunfermline was badly affected.

Kelty, Ballingry, Cowdenbeath and north Glenrothes were also badly hit by the white stuff with nose-to-tail traffic.
Meanwhile heavy rain caused problems in many other areas. The Burntisland to Aberdour road has been closed due to flooding.

The fire service was called out to help two people out of their car after they got stuck in two and a half feet of water.
They also went to the aid of a van driver who similarly had tried to push on through the deep water.
In Lochgelly, community spirit came to the fore when a bus, believed to be operated by Prentice Westwater, skidded on the steep Station Road and became stuck.
Jim Dewar and Graham Bowmaker from Rennies in Cowdenbeath arrived on the scene to grit the road and help stuck motorists while workers from the nearby Purvis Group arrived with a digger.
Stagecoach East Scotland said the weather was causing delays in Fife and Perthshire.
