Fire services from across Fife were called to tend to a fire at the old Dobbies Garden Centre in Dalgety Bay on Sunday morning.
Services from Dunfermline, Lochgelly and Kirkcaldy were called to assist with putting out the blaze at Hillend Industrial Estate before 5am.
The building, that has been vacant since 2019, is set to be converted into a new B&M store after planning was approved by Fife Council last year.
A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We had four appliances from Dunfermline, Lochgelly and Kirkcaldy attend a fire in the single-storey derelict building at Ridge Way, Dalgety Bay at 4.38am on Sunday morning.
“The fire was put out successfully by those in attendance and the last appliance left the scene at 7.43am.”
Police officers remain at the scene as investigations in to what caused the fire take place.
Police Scotland confirmed that they were called to assist the fire service with closing a section of the road in order to control the flames.
