Miniature versions of the stunning Kelpies statues will ride into St Andrews this summer.
The Kelpies Maquettes will go on display on the Bruce Embankment in July.
Crafted by Scottish sculptor Andy Scott the smaller cousins of the world’s largest equine sculptures in Falkirk have toured the globe, promoting Scotland.
They will take pride of place beside the British Golf Museum during the height of the tourism season and through two high profile golfing tournaments, the Ricoh British Women’s Open and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Tourism St Andrews, the newly formed local tourist authority for the town, is delighted to have secured a visit from the 10ft high sculptures from July 24 to October 23.
Spokeswoman Debbie MacCallum said: “The Kelpies have become one of Scotland’s most well-loved landmarks, attracting visitors as well as locals to see the eye-catching statues.
“Their arrival in St Andrews will hopefully provide an added incentive for visitors to the Kingdom and a welcome boost for businesses in the town.”
St Andrews councillor Councillor Brian Thomson said: “It’s fantastic the iconic maquettes are coming to St Andrews.
“Given the impact that they have had elsewhere, I’m sure they will be a very popular attraction for both local residents and visitors to the town.”
A series of events to coincide with the exhibition will include children’s activities and workshops.
