A man has been charged after an alleged dog attack in St Andrews that left a 13-year-old boy in hospital.
The teenager was taken to hospital in Dundee after being bitten by the dog on South Street on Halloween night.
Locals reported seeing a number of police vehicles and an ambulance in the area at the time of the incident.
Dog put down following incident
It is understood the dog has since been put down.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.55pm on October 31, police received a report a teenager had been bitten by a dog on South Street, St Andrews.
“Emergency services attended and a 13-year-old boy was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
“A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
