Roadworks will close busy stretch of the A955 in Dysart for four weeks later this month.
Normand Road will close between Windmill Road and Boreland Road on November 28 as a result of the £350,000 resurfacing works.
The work is scheduled to be completed by December 23, Fife Council says, with limited access for residents.
Diversions will be in place throughout, with work taking place seven days a week between between 7.30am and 5pm.
Dysart roadworks ‘essential’
The A955 usually carries traffic between Kirkcaldy, Dysart and Leven.
Councillor Altany Craik, the council’s spokesperson for finance, economy and strategic planning, said the £350,000 investment was essential.
He said: “Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work.
“Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential.”
Public transport, including bus services, will be affected, with updates to be shared on the Stagecoach website.
Mr Craik added: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we’ll try to keep any disturbance to a minimum.”
