A man, woman and child have been taken to hospital following a crash between a bus and a car in Kirkcaldy.
The collision took place on Hayfield Road at 11.20am on Thursday, when the car hit the rear of the bus near Victoria Hospital.
A man, woman and child from the car were taken to hospital, however their injuries are not believed to be serious.
Bus and car crash ‘a frightening incident’
Nobody aboard the bus was injured.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the road was closed eastbound so the vehicles could be recovered.
A Stagecoach spokesperson said: “We can confirm that an incident occurred today where a vehicle collided with the rear of one of our vehicles.
“The passengers on board the bus and our driver were uninjured. An ambulance was called for the driver of the other vehicle.
“Safety is our absolute priority and our thoughts are with those affected by what will have been a frightening incident.
“We will be supporting the investigation into the circumstances involved.”
Police called to scene of collision
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 11.20am to a report of a crash involving a car and a bus on Hayfield Road, Kirkcaldy, eastbound.
“A man, a woman and a child from the car were taken by ambulance to hospital.
“There were no reported injuries from the bus.
“The road is closed eastbound for recovery of the vehicles.”
