Two people taken to hospital after crash in north-east Fife near Forgan Roundabout

Two people have been taken to hospital and one man reported after a two-car crash on the A92 near Wormit.

The incident happened between the Five Roads and Forgan roundabouts on Thursday afternoon at around 1.30pm.

There are no details about the extent of their injuries at this stage.

Two-car crash

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1pm on Thursday, December 1 we were called to a report of a two-car crash on the A92 near Wormit

“Emergency services attended and a 73-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee by ambulance.

“A 71-year-old man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a road traffic offence.”

“Recovery was arranged and the road reopened around 3.40pm.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed three appliances and a fire officer had been sent to the scene.

Police were also in attendance at the incident, with traffic said to be heavy in the area as a result.

The road carries traffic onto the final stretch of the A92 before the Tay Road Bridge between Fife and Dundee.

Traffic Scotland had warned drivers in the area to expect delays.
