A Fife girl was struck by a fire engine responding to an emergency call on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred near Dunnikier Estate in Kirkcaldy around 3.20pm.
The appliance had its siren and flashing lights on when the collision occurred.
Luckily, the girl only suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Victoria Hospital for treatment.
It is believed she had been on a scooter when the incident occurred.
Witnesses on social media said they saw her lying on the ground receiving treatment from paramedics before she was taken to hospital
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “Around 3.20pm on Sunday a fire appliance responding to an incident was involved in a collision with a member of the public.
“The blue lights and sirens were both activated at the time.
“The casualty sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for checks as a precautionary measure.”
She added: “We are working with Police Scotland to establish the full facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.”
