The alarm was raised at around 9am after smoke was reported in the stairwell of the five storey block in Seafield View. Fire crews used breathing apparatus, thermal imaging equipment and one hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze, which had broken out in a bedroom. There were no reports of anyone being rescued from the property where the fire broke out. Nobody was injured in the incident. Fife Council staff were called to the scene to secure the property. Occupants were let back into their homes after around an hour. One said: “I just thought somebody had burned their toast”.
