This is the Fife Santa’s grotto that’s been compared to Lapland.
The Scottish Deer Centre, near Cupar, has pulled out all the stops to give families the ultimate Christmas experience.
Tickets were snapped up as soon as they went on sale.
But we followed Cupar family Mia and Lacey Low, mum Paula and friend Ellie Johnstone as they enjoyed the magic at the sold-out grotto.
Snow-filled land of lights and fun at the Deer Centre Santa’s grotto
Visitors take the SDC Express through the tunnel of transformation and into the Land of Magic, passing thousands of fairy lights en route.
And they arrive in a snowy land filled with Danish nutcracker soldiers, gingerbread men and snowmen.
There’s even a giant piano keyboard, like the one in the movie Big, starring Tom Hanks.
Down Christmas Tree Lane to Santa’s Cabin
The fun continues as families wander down Christmas Tree Lane to Santa’s cabin.
There they meet the chief elf, who introduces them to Father Christmas as he warms himself by the fire.
Once they’ve established whether they’re naughty or nice and made their Christmas requests, youngsters are then returned to the start by train.
But the experience isn’t over yet at the Deer Centre Santa’s grotto.
Children can sit in Santa’s sleigh, pulled by four golden reindeer.
And they can skate on the ice rink, especially imported from China for the season.
Anyone feeling peckish can then buy pizza and doughnuts served from an old Army bomb disposal unit vehicle.
‘As good as Lapland’
Scottish Deer Centre co-owner David Hamilton is delighted with the grotto.
“We had someone in who went to Lapland last year and he said ours is just as good,” he said.
And the Low family’s verdict?
“Awesome!” they said.
The attraction opened on November 26 and has run every weekend.
But from Saturday, it’s open every day until Christmas eve.
While it is sold out, there are plenty of other Santa’s grottos to visit across Tayside and Fife.
