A Glenrothes man has unwittingly become an internet sensation after falling for a superb April Fools Day prank.
Sam Kirkham had been looking forward to a day out go karting with his friends and, after being told the group would be going in fancy dress, he got into the spirit of things by dressing up as Dr Evil from Austin Powers.
Grey suit, bald headcap and even clutching the classic white cat from the film franchise, Sam ventured out of his house at 7am on Saturday morning when his friends arrived to pick him up.
Only it wasn’t fancy dress at all….leaving a car full of friends who were in on the joke creased with laughter.
And it didn’t just tickle Sam’s mates, as thousands of people across the country were given a laugh.
The whole episode was posted on Facebook by Craig Hall and quickly went viral, with over 380,000 views, 7,500 likes and over 3,160 shares within 12 hours of it being posted.
“APRIL FOOLS!!! Away go karting today n we told Sam Kirkham it was fancy dress.. Dr evil ? ? ? I’m howling,” he posted.
