Kinghorn Loony Dook: Best pictures as Fifers brave chilly Forth to see in 2023

Brave Fifers at Kinghorn beach have welcomed in the New Year with a dip in the chilly waters of the Forth.

The annual New Year’s Day dook kicked off at mid-day despite near-freezing temperatures.

Many donned colourful costumes for the bracing start to 2023, which is organised by Kinghorn lifeboat station.

Those taking part were encouraged to donate to the charity, with over £4,000 raised in advance to support their work throughout the year.

The lifeboat station responded to over 90 call outs in 2022, and volunteers attended to the first call for help of this year at 3.30am on New Year’s Day.
