Labour took two seats in this ward with veteran councillor Judy Hamilton joined by businessman Alistair Cameron.
Zoe Hisbent from the SNP is the third member for the area, like Mr Cameron elected for the first time.
Ms Hamilton said she was delighted to re-elected.
“I knew it was tight with the rise of the Conservative vote but I felt confident that if people judged me on my record they would realise I have done a really good job for Kirkcaldy central,” she said.
“I intend to continue in the same way. I’m really committed to this role.”
A shell-shocked Zoe Hisbent said she was over the moon to be elected.
“All of the hard work of the whole team has paid off today,” she said.
“My priorities are Kirkcaldy High Street and anti-social behaviour and I’ll start on them right away.”
