It’s a whole new look for residents of Kirkcaldy East, who have elected three new councillors to represent them.
The SNP’s Rod Cavanagh said that he was thrilled to be voted in, saying: “It’s all a bit surreal, but I’m very excited and looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
Ian Cameron, Labour, is also new to the role and said that he already had several issues that he intended to carry forward following his campaign.
He added: “I feel like it’s been worth it.
“There are a lot of people with a lot of issues and I’m looking forward to helping them.”
There was also a huge surprise as Conservative candidate Richard Watt was elected.
Independent candidate Marie Penman was ousted from her seat, despite registering a respectable 421 first preference votes.
