The Liberal Democrat was elected alongside stalwart and party colleague Tim Brett in one of the party’s traditional strongholds. He said: “I don’t think it’s sunk in yet. It’s been a bit nerve-wracking but I’m really looking forward to it. “Tim is obviously something of a mentor with a lot of experience. I’m going to help him get on with the job of looking after our area.” Bill Connor retained his seat for the SNP. Result Tim Brett (Lib Dems) – 2270 Bill Connor (SNP) – 1197 Fergus Cook (Green) – 247 Robert Drysdale (Con) – 1079 Derek Gray (SNP) – 642 Jane O’Neill (Lab) – 340 Jonny Tepp (Lib Dems) – 657 Turnout – 56%
